For more information, please see: <a href=\"https:\/\/f2.washington.edu\/fm\/maa\/fec\">https:\/\/f2.washington.edu\/fm\/maa\/fec<\/a><\/p>\n<h2>eFEC login: <a href=\"https:\/\/ucs.admin.uw.edu\/effortreport\/\">https:\/\/ucs.admin.uw.edu\/effortreport\/<\/a><\/h2>\n<h2>Prior to the eFEC:<\/h2>\n<h2>Items That Alter Printed Information on the FEC<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Overpayments<\/li>\n<li>Underpayments<\/li>\n<li>RSTs<\/li>\n<li>System generated rounding errors (not required to correct if less than 5%)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>How to fill out boxes 5-7 on FEC<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>If totals in &#8220;Quarterly Salary Source(s)&#8221; section are verified and no cost sharing is involved, simply carry down the %Effort numbers as follows: enter total from #1 for #5, enter &#8220;0&#8221; for #6, and #2 for #7. The addition of totals on lines 5-7 should equal #8.<\/li>\n<li>If totals in &#8220;Quarterly Salary Source(s)&#8221; section are verified and cost sharing is involved, enter total from #1 for #5, enter the total % of cost sharing shown for #6, and subtract #6 from the total of #2 for #7. The addition of totals on lines 5-7 should equal #8.<\/li>\n<li>If totals\u00a0verified in &#8220;Quarterly Salary Source(s)&#8221; section do not match what is printed, cross the incorrect information out, add the correct information in, have the faculty initial each item that was crossed out, add the corrected information in 5-7 (as noted in the first bullet), attach the documentation that supports the changes made (i.e. RSTs) and add a note in the comment box stating what the change was for.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>Why FECs Are Most Often Returned<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>No initials next to items that were crossed out<\/li>\n<li>Comments were not added<\/li>\n<li>Documentation was not attached to support the changes noted on the FEC<\/li>\n<li>Totals aren&#8217;t entered in or do not add up to Total of All Activities (#8)<\/li>\n<li>Changes made on the FEC does not reflect totals, budget numbers, percentages shown on the support documentation (such as math errors)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Due Dates<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/peden.ece.uw.edu\/payroll-ops\/deadlines\/\">See Payroll Deadlines<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Faculty Effort Certification (FEC) reports are forms faculty complete to document effort and cost sharing paid from both Federal and Non-Federal sponsored projects.
